New Teacher Announcement - Amy Berrisford returns to Adelaide

The fire sparks as Amy returns to Adelaide to share her passion for the arts...

Amy Berrisford, music theatre extraordinaire, has appeared in several productions across the world including Chicago, We Will Rock You, Cats, King Kong Live, Boy From Oz and Sweet Charity. She describes the highlight of her career as playing Velma Kelly in the recent Australian tour of Chicago. Amy says

“The Dream was real and I loved every single minute of it”

Amy was scheduled as Dance Captain for the upcoming tour of 9 to 5 The Dolly Parton Musical, which was set to open in Sydney in April but has been postponed with the hope to return in 2021. “It’s definitely challenging for our Industry right now but we are all trying to stay as positive as we can”. Amy continues but I am so thankful this has given me the opportunity to come home and give back to the arts community”.

Berrisford will be returning back to Adelaide to teach regular classes at the Australian Company of Performing Arts.

 Teaching at the SA Dance Festival last year was truly amazing, it sparked a fire in me and I knew I wanted to be back. Adelaide turn out some first class dancers. It’s the training, discipline and heart that really speaks to me and I cannot wait to get started

Amy lists that her classes will include intensive Music Theatre Performance Training, Acting through movement but will also focus heavily on technique, strength and control through combinations and progressions. Amy will be working with the performance and competitions teams at ACPA but will also be hosting an Open Broadway Jazz class each week at the studio.
