ACPA’s Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Management course develops both the skills and knowledge to teach dance in a variety of genres along with the fundamentals of managing your own business.
As a nationally recognised qualification, there is also a strong focus on Leadership, Management and mentoring skills that are necessary to become an exceptional teacher. You will be working alongside mentors who have years of industry experience in teaching, stage management, production, business management and more.
This course is the pathway for students interested in completing the Diploma in Dance Teaching and Management.

Over the course of 12 months full time or 2 years part time, students will cover a variety of different topic such as:
- Practical teaching sessions
- Training programs and developing lesson plans
- Planning and designing assessment activities and programs
- Classroom management techniques
- Performance and live production planning and management (backstage and teacher perspective)
- Business and studio management
- Nutrition and Anatomy
- Work Health and Safety
- Safe Dance Teaching practices
- Relationship Management
- Working with children and young people at risk
Students are required to complete assessment activities and gather evidence of competency. All students will be required to undertake short answer questions, assessment submissions, self-directed learning, work place projects and keep a journal.
It should be noted that evidence for assessment will be gathered across a number of occasions from different points in time. Candidates may be required to demonstrate knowledge and skills on more than one occasion.

Acceptance into this course is via audition only.
Our full-time Certificate IV Dance Teaching and Management program has a minimum age requirement of 18 years.
All applicants must show evidence of previous dance training in either jazz or ballet.
Due to the physical nature of the course a certain level of physical fitness is required.
Candidates must submit the following:
Video evidence of a one-minute solo demonstrating the following genres:
- A genre of your choice
A 1 to 2 minute recording communicating why you want to complete this course, your career goals and details on relevant experience and interests.
The Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Management is offered at $6000.
Payment plan options available
$1250 instalment per term, and a $1000 non refundable deposit is required upon acceptance to the course.
