Kim Grant-Taylor is the founder and director of the Australian Company of Performing Arts which was established over 20 years ago.

Dancing since she was 5 years old, Kim has studied a variety of dance styles including Classical Ballet, Theatre, Tap, Jazz, Commercial as well as the modern styles, funk and groove. She has extensive experience in performing, teaching and choreography as well as an A. D. P.A. (Associate Diploma in Performing Arts) and A. R.A.D. (Advanced Royal Academy of Dance). She is a familiar face on television, having worked on channel 7, and has toured the world performing as a dancer for several high-end shows. 

Kim's passion and love for dance is highly contagious and readily visible in her students. Kim also works heavily in event management, providing entertainment and stage management for corporate functions held at venues such as the Convention Centre and Entertainment Centre. You will also see Kim operating as Game Day Manager at Adelaide Oval for Port Adelaide Football Club. Her insight into the industry is highly valued amongst the school and is a valuable resource to the students she mentors.

Pep Rigano

Marketing and Promotions Manager

Pep currently acts as the marketing and promotions manager here at the Australian Company of Performing Arts as well as the head hip hop coach in the school.

Pep has been dancing since the age of 9 and trained in Hip Hop, Funk, Jazz, Tap, Burlesque and Commercial Dance. His persistence has seen him through National titles in competitions such as F.I.S.A.F, School Aerobics and Battlegrounds Australia. Pep, along with his team, were invited to compete in the World Hip Hop titles in Los Angeles in 2005. At the age of 18, he received a scholarship from Andre Fuentes (Britney Spears' Choreographer - Circus Tour 2009), to travel to America and work closely with the world's best international choreographers such as Tony Czar, Kevin Maher, Kyle Hanagami, Andye J and Brian Puspos just to name a few.

Having a strong focus on educating boys in dance, Pep decided to set up the very first all boys hip hop class at ACPA. With only 5 students, within a year, there were 6 classes with well over 130 boys. This specialty class is one of Pep's great passions as he watches the development and growth of boys from 4-16yrs old. In a report to Adelaide Now; Pep says, "I honestly love teaching the boys. Seeing their passion, energy and strength is something I work closely with to cater to a fun, exciting environment that is strong in discipline and always challenging".

Meagan McLaren

Business Manager

Meagan worked as a professional dancer for over 10 years which saw her perform in numerous shows and events around Adelaide as well as overseas.

Meagan has been dancing since she was 3 years old and trained professionally alongside Kim Grant-Taylor. She has recently joined the Australian Company of Performing Arts in the role of business development manager as she believes in the passion and commitment both Kim and all of the teachers have towards developing their students in a fun yet professional manner.

Meagan has also had experience as a National Sales Manager with a leading fashion retailer. With the experience of managing over 120 staff with a turnover of $22M, Meagan developed skills in sales management, human resource, merchandising, induction, sales and service training and created and executed management workshops. She is also an accredited trainer specialising in front line management.

Meagan's love and passion for dance and entertainment has always been the fire in her heart which is why she joined ACPA and later the Talent Company. She currently teaches Streetjazz, Flash Fitness, Jazz 1 and our TCT performance team. Meagan is vibrant, energetic and dedicated to assuring a high standard of service and quality.

Receptionist

Kate has been dancing since the age of 5 and has trained in styles including ballet (R.A.D), jazz and tap (C.S.T.D) receiving distinctions in all three dance styles.

Kate's experience has seen her perform professionally across many formats including cabaret, television and corporate events. A strong appetite to explore her natural creative and artistic talents has driven Kate to delve into the visual and aesthetic side of stage performance, photography and television as a qualified make-up artist. She also works heavily in the tap, ballet and jazz side of ACPA, with a focus on coaching the ATOD exam students through their exam preparation in the hope of achieving the highest possible mark.

Kate takes pride in her students, with particular attention to detail in class. You will recognise Kate's insightful friendly voice as the ACPA administration receptionist.

Stephanie

Stephanie

Music Theatre Director

Stephanie has competed in winning Eisteddfods in Melbourne and Adelaide, & completed ballet studies in Cecchetti & Borovansky syllabi-Tap CSTD Gold Cross.

Born and raised in Adelaide, Stephanie studied dance at the Barbara Jayne Dance Centre and singing with Pauline Jamieson. She completed her ballet studies in both Cecchetti and Borovansky syllabi and received her CSTD Gold Cross in tap. Stephanie competed in Eisteddfods winning championships and aggregates in Melbourne and Adelaide. After completing her schooling, she continued her studies with The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts where she received a BA in Music Theatre. Upon graduation, Stephanie was awarded the Leslie Anderson award for Best showcase. She made her professional debut in Love Never Dies (RUC) the sequel to Phantom Of The Opera working under the direction of Andrew Lloyd Webber. She starred in A Chorus Line (TLP) as Maggie which toured both nationally and internationally. This went onto receive the Helpmann Award for Best Musical. She also starred alongside Geoffrey Rush and Magda Szubanski in A Funny Thing Happened Along the Way to the Forum (GFO) performing for Stephen Sondheim the composer of the show. Other credits include Anything Goes (WAAPA), Ragtime(WAAPA), Cabaret (WAAPA), The Producers (TPC), Pirates of Penzance (TPC) and Sweet Charity (HTC). TV credits include Mr & Mrs Murder and several televised live events.

Steph currently teaches Tap, Jazz and Music Theatre at ACPA. 

Erin

Erin has been training extensively in dance for over twenty years with experience in jazz, contemporary, ballet, hip hop, cheerleading and sport aerobics

Not only does she have an amazing list of performance credits to her name, she has also spent many years competing in state, national and international dance competitions. In 2004, Erin represented Australia at the FISAF World Championships where her team received 1st place in the junior hip hop category. 

When she is not in the dance studio, Erin works full time as a physiotherapist with Level 2 Pilates qualifications from Dance Medicine Australia. She is continually seeking opportunities to further her skills in dance and physiotherapy, both of which she combines to pass onto her students during each of her lessons. Erin is also undertaking her Diploma of Dance Teaching and Management and working closely with the dance medicine departments of some of America's leading universities. The improvement in her student's abilities is evident as each year progresses and we are proud to call Erin one of our amazing staff. Erin currently teaches Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary at ACPA. 

Tahlia

Dance Instructor

Tahlia has been dancing since the age of three in dance styles such as hip-hop/funk, jazz and ballet and is part of the State champion hip hop crew.

Tahlia holds some incredible achievements of which include being offered a scholarship in 2009 from Andre Fuentes (Britney Spears' Choreographer) to travel to America and work with the world's best choreographers. Following this, Tahlia travelled to Los Angeles in 2012 to further her dance training by working with renowned international dancers and choreographers.

She has been highly involved with national, international and world competitions over previous years and is part of the State Champion Hip Hop crew. Tahlia has been a professional performer for over 5 years, working in corperate events around Adelaide. Her love and passion for dance is truly evident. As well as tahlia being devoted to her dance training, she is committed to teaching Mni's, Kids Hip Hop, Monday Hip Hop and our beginner Stiletto Fit class. Tahlia is extremely dedicated to sharing her love and knowledge of dance with her students at ACPA.

Emily has been dancing since the age of three in dance styles such as hip-hop, jazz, ballet, contemporary, acrobatics and tap.

Emily is a dedicated member of ACPA and over the past few years has competed and performed in countless hip-hop competitions and corporate events. She is very passionate about sharing her love of dance with her students.

Born to teach, she finds nothing more satisfying in life than watching her students shine. Her passion for working with children is evident as during the day, Emily works as a primary school teacher. She adores ACPA for its caring, hardworking and fun environment. We absolutely love having Emily on board and know you will too. Emily currently teaches our Kids Hip Hop classes as well as our Junior Hip Hop Crew.

Carly started dancing at 2 doing Calisthenics at Reynella Braeview Calisthenics, completing 13 yrs training before being introduced to contemporary.

She undertook an additional 6 years of training in Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary and Musical Theatre at ACPA, ADT and in several national workshops around Australia. Being an incredibly committed student, Carly also completed both SACE 1 and 2 Dance at Mitcham Girls High School and is now extending her skill set doing full-time at ACPA.

Carly recently was fortunate enough to be invited to perform at Disneyland Resort in Los Angeles, California alongside some incredible dancers from SA. This experience allowed her to be trained under some of the worlds best choreographers. Carly loves being involved with the students at ACPA and is committed to growth. Carly currently teaches Contemporary at ACPA.

Alexis begun dancing at 3, training in styles like jazz, tap, ballet & contemporary, & completing multiple levels in vocational & graded RAD ballet exams.

 She also participated in her high schools dance program all the way through to year 12 with the successful completion of Stage 1 and Stage 2 dance. Alexis recently travelled to Los Angeles at the beginning of 2016 where she was able to train with some of the worlds leading choreographers and teachers as well as performing in Disney Land.

Alexis has always had a passion for dance with a particular interest in jazz and ballet and she loves to be able to share this passion with her students. Alexis is devoted to creating a positive and enthusiastic working environment for her students here at ACPA. Alexis currently teaches Jazz and Ballet at ACPA.

Dance, acting and singing has played a major role in Jemma’s life since the age of 4, with her love and passion for performing still growing today.

Training in numerous dance styles including hip hop, commercial, jazz and theatrical, Jemma has had the opportunity to perform at nationally recognised competitions as well as travel to Los Angeles to train intensively with some of the world’s best choreographers. Jemma has performed at cooperate events around Adelaide but has also extended her performance experience to Disneyland California. 

Acting is something that Jemma is really passionate about and it is evident that she excels in this skill from her achievements over the past few years. Graduating high school in 2015 she was awarded with a SACE recognised merit in Drama as well as landing herself roles in various short films and local commercials. Currently studying full time dance at ACPA, Jemma is serious about her performance career and teaching her students at ACPA who share the similar passion as herself. Jemma currently teaches the Kids Glee Group at ACPA.

Jess has been dancing since the age of 8 in styles such as Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap and funk, all in which she has been taught at ACPA.

Not only is Jess a dedicated student to ACPA having competed in numerous state, nationals and recently World Hip Hop Competitions, she is passionate about being on stage and sharing her love for dancing. 

In 2012, Jess travelled along with her team to Los Angeles, America for an experience of a lifetime. The trip gave her the chance to learn from sone of the world’s best choreographers including her idol, Kyle Hanagami. She will be returning to the US in 2015 to train intensively once again. Jess has always had a very versatile and creative side that she loves to share with her students at ACPA. Jess currently works with our Hip Hop Crews as well as the Open Hip Hop class.

Erin is studying a Bachelor of Jazz Performance specialising in Jazz Voice at Elder Conservatorium of Music and is excited to be a part of the ACPA Team.

Erin has been heavily involved in musical theatre from a very young age. So much so that, Saint Peters Girls School awarded her a dramatic arts scholarship of which she was soon to become prefect and head chorister at the school, attaining an ATAR of 99. Erin was awarded merit in both her music and drama studies, winning the state theatre Company Award for excellence in Drama. Recently, she was selected to be a vocal mentor for the 2014 New York Jazz Symposium working alongside some of Americas finest jazz musicians and faculty members of the Julliard School of Performing Arts. Other recent achievements include receiving the Edit and Ern memorial award first place in Music Theatre vocals, receiving a scholarship to attend the New York Julliard Jazz Winter School and professional work such as Westfield productions, live children shows and the Fringe.

Erin has a great passion for educating, inspiring and encouraging students to explore their creativity in the area of vocal, music and performing. “I value every opportunity I have to instill confidence and teach music to a new generation and I believe 2015 will be a great year of development and positive change. Erin currently teaches private vocal as well as the Music Theatre Group at ACPA.

Daniela has performed in and choreographed for various corporate, commercial and independent dance events.

She has collaborated with many artists, including film-makers to create short dance films (“Footprint”, Dir. Pia Borg was nominated for the Palme d’Or at Cannes Film Festival, “Then” Dir. and Chor. Daniela Di Fabio won Best Independent Dance Video, Il Coreografo Elettronico, Naples and screened at festivals in the USA, NZ, AUS and Italy).
Daniela performed with the I Solisti Veneti, Chamber Orchestra at the Sansoucci Music Festival, Germany, was a member of the Company for Performing Artists, Thailand, choreographed and performed for The Potbeleez, DirtyFeet, and Global Hair Expo, Sydney, and has trained with and attended workshops held by Akram Khan (Akram Kahn Company), Gary Stewart (ADT), Jonathan Taylor (Ballet Rambert, Netherlads Dans Theatre), David Ashmole (Royal Ballet) and numerous other renowned dance practitioners in Australia and abroad.
In 2006, Daniela moved from Sydney to Italy where she lived for eight years. She founded anddirected her own dance and fitness school in the Trentino region. Upon her return to Adelaide in 2014, Daniela joined ACPA. Daniela’s qualifications include: SACE Dance Certificate, Bachelor of Dance (VCA), Post Graduate Diploma and Masters of Choreography (VCA), Yoga Teaching Certificate, Pilates Instructor Certificate and Certificate IV in Small Business Management. Currently, Daniela is completing a Certificate IV in Fitness. Dance and fitness are Daniela’s “joie de vivre”!
Her commitment to training students and clients to be the best they can is her driving force as a facilitator. She considers herself blessed to be working in an industry that fosters creativity, requires great dedication and motivation, and strengthens the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of our being.
